Since 2012, The Casey
Young Foundation has supported Music Together Outreach programs through MT of
Park Slope, and now serves over 100 families in
parent-child classes and in schools all over Brooklyn.
On Saturday Oct. 31, 2015, we hosted a fundraising Halloween Dance Party at our Center Slope studio (386 1st Street, just above 6th Ave., Park Slope). Over the course of this two hour drop in party, families enjoyed singing, dancing, Halloween crafts, goody bags, and additional raffles, all in support of our fabulous Outreach program. Thank you to all who attended!
In January 2015, we began teaching the In-School Music Together Program at Atlantic Avenue Early Learning Center in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The children, parents, and teachers all jumped on board and we had 2 very successful family invitation events in the first semester. Our teacher Melissa Stylianou continues to work with these children (aged 2-4) at AAELC, and we have just begun offering the program at The Duffield Children's Center in Fort Greene, as well as at PS446 in Brownsville, Brooklyn (taught by Chris Capobianco, an MT teacher and former MT Dad).
In January 2012, we began our Outreach Class in Sunset Park at PS 24 The
Dual Language School. These weekly Music Together classes are
conducted in English with Spanish translation available and are taught
by Jeanine LaBarbera. Tuition for our Outreach class participants is
paid for by the Casey Young Foundation, which also offers scholarships
for families to attend our main Park Slope location. For more
