All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children. They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Chris is excited to be a Music Together teacher after having been a Music Together dad the past four years with his two daughters ages 2 and 4! Music and theatre have been a part of Chris' life since childhood. Chris loves playing the piano and guitar, has accompanied choirs and performed in musical theater throughout high school and college. Chris is also a certified elementary and secondary teacher and has worked with children in various school settings. Chris is thrilled to be part of the Music Together community and have the opportunity to combine his passion for music and working with children and their families.

SeungHee is a professional vocalist/composer, who is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, holds a masters degree in jazz from New England Conservatory. With over 9 years of Music Together®teaching, she is a director at www.KidsMusicTogether.com and a certified Somatic Voicework™ teacher for non-classical voice and was a former faculty member of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. She also performs her original music in jazz groups around town.

photo Jennifer Hopkins

is a veteran singer and dancer, having performed professionally in musical theater locally and nationally. She is also a dance teacher who has taught children of all ages ballet, tap and jazz over the last decade. Her current music and movement muses are daughters Emma, Lucie and Kathryn.

Jeanine LaBarbera is a singer, songwriter & actor who has performed in musical theatre on such stages as Lincoln Center & appeared on Star Search at age 17. She studied at Berklee College of Music, plays guitar & has been teaching Music Together for over 10yrs. Jeanine launched her solo career as an independent artist in 2007 at Crash Mansion, NYC & released her solo debut CD, “Jeanine Truly” in December, 2009. She currently performs with some of NY’s most bright, up & coming talent and is part of the funk & soul renaissance now re-drawing the map of NY City’s music. jeaninetruly.com

Nikolai's earliest memories include his mother playing the guitar and singing folk songs with him and his brother. Fast-forward 30 years and he's been overjoyed to see his daughter having some of those same experiences with him. Nikolai finds himself truly lucky to be working and creating in this field of family music and education since 2005, teaching Music Together classes as well as performing his own original funky family music around town. has a BFA in Arts Management from C.W. Post College. Her background includes singing in bands and choirs, choreographing modern dance pieces and performing in musical theatre. After a brief stint in Information Technology, Victoria is happy to be back to her musical roots. She credits her mom, who sang with her from an early age, with her love of music. Victoria is still a kid at heart.

Melissa is an accomplished jazz vocalist, recording artist, and educator, originally from Toronto, Canada. Here in NYC, she has performed at venues such as Birdland, Jazz Standard and Carnegie Hall. She can also be seen on Canadian television on the hit kids' TV show "Foursquare". An experienced educator, Melissa has taught at National Music Camp, Humber College and University of Toronto, teaches voice privately at the 92nd St. Y and is a graduate of Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto with a degree in Acting. She has been teaching Music Together since 2007 and is very happy to be a part of the MT community in the Park Slope, Bay Ridge and East Side West Side Music Together centers.  Melissa plays guitar and has her  Music Together Certification Level 1.

Stephen Taylor has been teaching Music Together for 10 years and is currently on staff in Park Slope and at The Hootenanny Art House. He is the Early Childhood Music and Movement teacher at Poly Prep Lower School and teaches private lessons on guitar, ukulele, piano and drums. As an independent artist, he composes music, performs with video and writes about life on his blog, www.supergood.org.

Dan Vonnegut began playing the drums and guitar when he was nine years old. He studied music at University of Miami and Indiana University (where he earned a BA in jazz music and culture.) For the past ten years, he has been a professional, freelance drummer and multi-instrumental music teacher in New York City. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two young children (who love music!)and is happy to be teaching Music Together®!

has a B.A. in Theater Arts from Rutgers, and spent 15 years performing with ballet, musical and dramatic theater companies. She has earned Level I Certification in Music Together and Orff- Schulwerk. She is also a writer whose plays have been produced off-off-Broadway.   Other theater credits include, Broadway - The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess (Associate Producer/2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival) and Godspell (Person of Godspell) .  In development - LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical (Lead Producer) enjoyed a successful pre-NY run at The Warner Theater in CT in July 2012.  Follow the progress at www.libertythemusical.com

Michelle Zilles

has been teaching Music Together in this community for many years. She loves singing, dancing, guitar picking and sharing the joy of family music making. Michelle has taught early music theory classes at the Lucy Moses School. She has directed many children's theater performances with Creative Theatrics and has taught acting workshops at The Children's Museum of Manhattan. Michelle holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University and an MA in Music Therapy from NYU.
